Created in 2015 to support broadcast meteorologist in the Raleigh, NC area, WhatsUpIn.space has grown to over 500 professional meteorologists in the broadcast, NWS, and education communities, along with students and others who are interested in learning more about astronomy. The goal is to provide a simple, easy to use resource focused on events that can be seen with the naked eye, or with minimal equipment such as binoculars. It is intended as a resource for busy professional meteorologists (broadcast, NWS, and others) who want to share space and astronomy content with their audiences, but don't have the time to research
